Other Volunteer Activities

Office Support

Administrative volunteers are very important to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska. When we have volunteers to assist us with clerical tasks, more time is dedicated to focus on our mission of supporting mentorships. The times for this volunteer opportunity are flexible and during normal business hours.

Graphic Designer

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for a talented individual to assist with our program material. The volunteer will need to have his or her own software (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) and be able to communicate through email and phone for follow-up meetings and communications with staff. This means that you'll complete each task from the comfort of your own home! Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Design and update program material, print collateral, infographics, signage, and special invitations
  • Edit graphics for our social media, website, and monthly newsletters
  • Utilize Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva in order to maximize marketing campaign outreach

If interested in volunteering graphic design skills, we will conduct an initial phone interview and would request to see some examples of your work.

STORY SHARING

Do you have a talent for sharing stories?

Sharing success is most effective through storytelling. We want to share the success stories of our matches with the community and recognize that a good story has an impact. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska is looking for assistance with putting our experiences into a story format to share highlights and engage with the community and increase support within the state. The times for this volunteer opportunity are flexible.
