Announcing the Wells Fargo Adopt-a-Match Challenge!
Step up and "adopt a match" for $2,500 and Wells Fargo will match that amount.

The Adopt-a-Match program was originally piloted by MAC Federal Credit Union in Fairbanks and is now statewide thanks to the generosity of Wells Fargo. Through this program, businesses can “adopt” a life-changing Big Brothers Big Sisters match for 2014.  This exciting opportunity is a perfect way for your business to showcase your commitment to the community and the youth of Alaska.

Our program has a BIG impact and you can help make it even BIGGER with your financial support.  A Big Brother or Big Sister provides the additional guidance and support needed to keep a child on the right path toward promise and possibility. In an independent nationwide study, Little Brothers and Little Sisters were:

·         52% less likely than their unmatched peers to skip school

·         46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs

·         27% less likely to begin using alcohol

·         More likely to do better in school

·         More likely to have better relationships
          with their friends and families

·         Less likely to engage in violent behavior

These results take time AND money.  That’s where you come in.  Each match costs approximately $2,500 to make and support for one year.  Your business can be among the first to highlight your community involvement through the Adopt-a-Match program.  A $2,500 donation is all it takes to join this program as a business sponsor.

Wells Fargo is excited about this initiative and wants to help start it off right.  They have issued the Wells Fargo Adopt-a-Match Challenge to the business community of Alaska.  Wells Fargo will match dollar for dollar each of the first 10 businesses that adopt a match, for a total of $25,000.  Basically, your donation and its impact will be doubled with the help of Wells Fargo.

We want to see BIG changes in the lives of children across the state of Alaska.

Supporting Relationships
Every day, we see and hear stories about how lives are being changed through a simple, professionally supported relationship between a child and a caring adult.

Building Communities
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska strengthens our communities by providing mentors to all children who need and want a caring adult role model – special friends who can help them expand their horizons, realize their potential and enrich their futures – changing their lives.

Providing Tools to Succeed
Bigs provide the additional guidance and support needed to keep a child on the right path toward promise and possibility. Mentoring is about prevention, and provides children with the tools to grow and succeed in a consistent, positive environment.

Simple Sharing
Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is simple. It’s sharing time, energy and friendship with a child in need. There is no special expertise required ~ and our volunteer mentors often times get back much more than they give!
