Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska advocates to local, state,
and federal governments to ensure that all children and youth throughout the Alaska who need or want a mentor are
able to have one.
In addition to advocating for mentoring programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska supports issues and policies that create a positive environment and community for young people mentored by our programs.
Local Advocacy > working with the cities and boroughs to increase mentoring resources to students in schools across Alaska
State Advocacy > increasing support and funding for mentoring programs for children of incarcerated parents
National Advocacy > working with BBBSA to advocate for the federal government to support mentoring efforts nationwide
You can help us by speaking out to your local council members, state legislators, and federal representatives and senators.
